Evolution of a Case: Why We Built the Ultimate Kobo Libra Colour Companion

Evolution of a Case: Why We Built the Ultimate Kobo Libra Colour Companion

Two years ago, Kobo dropped the 7-inch Libra Colour—a great mix of color E-Ink, stylus support, and physical page-turn buttons. You had a pen-enabled reader, but nowhere to put the pen.

At twosheep, we decided to build what shouldn't have been missing in the first place.

Step 1: Fixing the Big Annoyances

We started with three clear upgrades:

  • Built-in Stylus Slot: Securely fits pens up to 16cm. No more playing hide-and-seek with your stylus at the bottom of your bag.
  • Magnetic Split Design: The cover snaps on and off via a built-in magnetic ring. Want a fresh look? Swap the top cover without stripping off the back shell.
  • Crystal-Clear Back: Lets the original device shine through, or gives you a clean canvas to show off your sticker collection.

Step 2: Listening to the "My Wrist Hurts" Crowd

After launching, feedback rolled in with a common theme: "Love it, but holding this set continuously gets heavy. Can it stand on its own?"

Fair point. Over the last few months, the team at twosheep worked on a solution: a companion origami folding stand cover. Now you can prop your Libra Colour upright on any flat surface, save your wrist, and enjoy hands-free reading.

The Takeaway

At the end of the day, it’s a case—not rocket science. But even simple accessories deserve thoughtful execution. At twosheep, we believe good products don't come from guessing in a room; they come from real users pointing out real daily annoyances until someone actually fixes them.
